The Sekhsaria Family set up NSFO in 2006 with an initial focus on investment in private equity and capital markets. Today NSFO has global operations and an AUM of over a billion USD. The family’s approach to investing draws from their strength as builder-operator of companies, to form long-term partnerships in key areas.

Mr. Narotam Sekhsaria is one of India’s most respected industrialists. He founded Ambuja Cement in April 1983, and built it into India’s most efficient and profitable cement company. Under
Mr. Sekhsaria’s leadership Ambuja acquired a stake in ACC, India’s oldest and most prestigious cement company, and greatly improved its performance. He divested his interest in Ambuja and ACC to Holcim Group Switzerland in 2006 and was appointed Chairman of both Companies.

Mr. Sekhsaria has led several companies and mentored many entrepreneurs in their own leadership journey. He is the Chairman of Ambuja Cement Foundation, a leader in corporate social responsibility that has done remarkable work in the areas of rural development through agriculture, health, education, skill-building and women’s empowerment initiatives. He is also the Chairman of the Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation, the family office’s philanthropic arm that supports projects for capacity building in the areas of health, education, livelihoods, governance, art and culture.

Padmini Sekhsaria is the Chairperson of Madhurima International Private Limited, one of the main investment companies of NSFO, and leads the global operations of the company. Under her leadership the family office participates in businesses across various sectors including technology, human capital, financial intermediation and retail. She is also, the Vice Chairperson of Everest industries, a new age building solutions company. Ms. Sekhsaria is the founder of the Salaam Bombay Foundation and heads the Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation - non-profits that work in the space of youth, health, education, livelihood, art and culture and rural development. She sits on the board of several global organisations, including the India Youth Fund, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, India Research Center. She has received numerous recognitions, including from the World Health Organization and the Mayor's citation from Mr. Michael Bloomberg. She is an alumnus of the London School of Economics and London Business School.

He was instrumental in the growth of Ambuja Cement - under his leadership the company’s shipping division became the industry’s most admired. Mr. Sekhsaria is a Director of JM Financial ARC. He is the chairman of the manufacturing committee at YEW, a wing of the Indian Merchant Chambers. Mr. Sekhsaria is an alumnus of the Wharton School of Business, Indian School of Business, London School of Business and INSEAD.
